Colonial Wood provides many services to its clients.  Josh the farm trainer/ owner puts horse and rider teams in the ring from the local show level to the national show ring. We offer training for all disciplines used in the show ring. 

We start all of the young horses with a gentle touch based on Natural Horsemanship then carry this solid foundation on throughout the individual horses show career.  Colonial Wood also has a variety of horses for sale.


Riding Lessons

New Lesson Packages Available for the 2009 season Colonial Wood is starting a new set of Lesson Packages this spring.

These lessons will open up the world of horses to many who have never been involved in horses before and others have but would like to learn more than they already know.

We are offering a wide variety lesson choices that promise to meet the needs and desires of anyone who is wishing to learn more about horses. These lessons will cover everything from lessons designed to teach you how to groom a horse to lessons that teach you to ride like a national champion.

If you love horses but do not want to ride them we have lessons that teach you how to handle horses from the ground. These lessons will teach you how to do everything from brushing to clipping to bathing horses. If you would like to know more than just grooming we are offering lessons that teach you how to work horses on the ground.

If all this sounds good to you but you want more we offer lessons on just about anything else you could want to learn to do with a horse.

The styles of riding lessons we offer include  English Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Trail, Hunter Jumper.

We have horses available for lessons or you can haul you own horse to our place for lessons.

Building Confidence, Training Older Riders young riders riding instruction techniques and principles grooming, conditioning western horseback riding lessons, riding lesson plans, horse back riding stables, english horseback riding lessons,.

We offer a variety of riding lesson packages. If you are a beginner we can start you out on a horse that suits your needs. We also keep the horses at slow gaits (walk and Trot) and in small pens for these lessons.

Theses beginner lessons are 30 minutes long and are $$

For the more advanced rider we offer lessons in the main arena and also out in a large paddock. These lessons are 45 minutes and are $$

Horse Boarding

All breed equine full care boarding facility on acres conveniently  located within minutes of the DFW airport and the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Colonial Wood  offers full care horse boarding.

At Colonial Wood boarding consists of feeding grain and hay twice a day, daily stall cleaning and turn out.
